This is a second revision of the Town Arena was first tested in the 1996 Club Championships. Significant changes have since been made.

Here's something new! A rough VRML version of the arena is now available for viewing at http://www.interchg.ubc.ca/brucel/1997/arena.wrl (Warning: Big file - 120 Kb). Road Conditions:

Road Rubble
  • streets & sidewalks are normal road
  • hitting curb = D3 hazard
  • smooth enough for racing slicks
  • rubble areas are accessible only to off-road capable vehicles (including trikes)
  • entering rubble areas is a D4 hazard
  • +D2 to hazards & maneuvers in rubble areas
  • off-road damage applies to underbodies & tires
  • firing at tires in rubble is an additional -2

Point System:

Duelling Rules
  • Mobility kills = 5 pts/-5 pts
  • Firepower kills = 5 pts/-5 pts
  • Destroy Gas Pump = 1 pt.
  • Building Breach = 1 pts.
  • Building Destruction = 3 pts.
  • Jumping at 30 mph or more = 1 pt.

Racing Rules
  • Start at the center of the arena
  • Cross (or touch) 3 different checkpoint areas
  • Return and cross or touch the center pyramid buildings
  • Cross (or touch) any checkpoint of your choosing
  • Return and cross or touch the center pyramid buildings to win
