What is a dial-up connection?

A dial-up connection is the traditional method of accessing the Internet. With a dial-up connection, your computer’s modem dials our modems and establishes and maintains your connection until you disconnect. Dial-up connections are an economical way to access the Internet without making any changes to your existing phone line.

Does Seanet offer unlimited access?

While many other companies that provide Internet access have oversold connectivity in order to provide the lure of “unlimited” access, they've actually just delivered busy signals and congested, saturated networks. Such providers have tried to create the image of “unlimited” access without ever actually being able to deliver.

Seanet’s focus is on providing connectivity for our customers when they want to be on-line. We have created a high perfomance environment where each and every customer gets a fully usable and enjoyable account. Seanet does not need to encourage our customers to use off-hours, nor have we needed to require customers to disconnect every 2 hours. Seanet's focus on a no-busy-signal policy and maintaining quality connections avoids misleading hype.

Where does Seanet offer dial-up access?

Seanet offers dial-up access to most of Western Washington with points of presence in Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Bremerton, Silverdale, Aberdeen, Olympia and Bellevue. Here is a list of our access numbers.

Can I get 56k access?

Seanet offers 56k access numbers in all of its coverage area. Whether or not you are able to achieve true 56k connectivity is dependent upon a number of factors, such as the quality of phone lines in your area.

Can I access my Seanet account when I am out of town?

Yes, we provide a nationwide network of local access numbers. Before you leave make sure to note which numbers will be close to the location you are traveling to. We provide Webmail, a web-based interface for checking your e-mail for customers who are out of town and have Internet access.

Do I get web space with my account?

Dial-up accounts with Seanet include personal web space for non-organizational use. Each login comes with 15Mb of disk space and allows you to create web pages for all the world to see. In addition, you also have access to some generic CGI scripts to allow mailforms, counters, and guestbooks.

What happens after I place my order?

After you place your order, one of our technical support representatives will walk you through the steps necessary to configure your computer. Once that’s done, you’re ready to go!

How will I be billed?

Seanet offers you the choice of being billed via credit card, email invoice, or paper invoice, on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. If we bill you quarterly, you’ll receive a 5% discount. If we bill you semi-annually, you’ll receive a 10% discount. If you choose invoice billing, there is a charge of $2 per invoice. Bills are due when received.
