In theory, taking a breastfeeding class would get you an opportunity to see someone breastfeeding in person. In practice, I've heard this is not always the case. Judging by a cursory search of the web, one strategy might be to find a very crunchy Bradley class taught in a home. You'd have a chance at the instructor having to breastfeed during class that way.
Watch a friend or relative breastfeed.
Hang out in public places and see if you can spot breastfeeding.
But the easiest, best and most certain way to see breastfeeding in action is, surely, to attend a La Leche meeting. There is no excuse for all this I-never-saw-anyone-breastfeed-until-I-had-to-do-it-myself crap. These meetings are almost everywhere.
