So you know that saying, "When Life Gives You Lemons"? Here are some more adult and less sugary answers than "Lemonade".
2 ounces brandy (Remy VSOP)
1 ounce Cointreau
.75 ounce lemon juice
.25 or less simply syrup
Chill the glass. Run some lemon around the rim and sugar the rim. Shake and pour.
This is a Last Word variant, but with brandy, so I'm willing to drink it.
Equal parts:
Brandy (Kirkland XO)
Green Chartreuse
Maraschino (Luxardo)
Lemon Juice
You can shake this one because there's no vermouth! You want it cold. You don't want to drink this at room temperature. Chill the glass, no garnish.
This is a Last Word variant, but with Rye, so I'm willing to drink it.
Equal parts:
Rye
Green Chartreuse
Maraschino (Luxardo)
Lemon Juice
You can shake this one! Shake it super cold. Don't let it sit around. You think it's a little odd cold? This is not a drink you want to be sipping warm. Chill the glass and don't bother with a garnish; there isn't anything adequately weird for this thing.
My 2018 New Year's Resolution was to get better at making more drinks consistently.
