Classic Night Vehicle Design

Many arenas and dueltracks, such as the Trench Warfare Historical Museum and Arena hold "Classic Night" events in addition to their standard combats. These events are an intense challenge for autoduellists because technology is limited. Victory becomes more dependent on skill and strategy.
 
When planning to hold a Classic Night Event, choose what "Tech Level" will be available. Only gadgets at this Tech Level or before can be used for combats. If an item is not listed in the Tech Level, the item cannot be acquired. For example, a Classic Night Event using 2032 technology would be limited to weapons and accessories found in Pocket Box Car Wars and Pocket Box Sunday Drivers/Crash City.

Most Car Wars events run by veteran players are Tech Level 2041+. Car Wars Compendium Second Edition Fifth Printing (2041) and Uncle Albert's Catalog From Hell (2042) are the two standard rulebooks for Tech Level 2041+ Car Wars events.

Classic Night Events using 2040 technology would be limited to items found in the Car Wars Classic small box set reprinted by Steve Jackson Games in late 2014.
