Cowhide & Chrome is active in many local bike runs and events. Pat, Gina and all the crew are members of Sky Valley Chapter, ABATE of Washington.
Here's a list of some of the activities we've been involved with in the past year.
Freedom Run
October 1996 and January 1997. Pat and Gina went to Olympia to speak with legislative members and show support for pro-motorcycling legislation.
ABATE Swap Meets
October 1996 and March 1997. Cowhide & Chrome had a booth at both the Spring and Fall swap meets. Some of the crew volunteered to help ABATE with swap meet operations.
ABATE Spring Bike Show
March 1997. Gina's bike won first place in the Woman Rider division.
Old Snohomish Bike Show
May 1997. Cowhide & Chrome donated trophies for the First Annual Old Snohomish Antique & Classic Motorcycle Show. Over 500 bikes showed up, and over 2000 people came out for this first event.
Annual Pig Roast
June 1996, 1997. This year's pig roast was rained on, but not rained out. The Seattle Cossacks awed the guests with amazing motorcycle stunts. The pig was delicious, and the band was great. Join us next June!
Food Bank
On going. Cowhide & Chrome maintains a donation barrel for Sky Valley Chapter ABATE. Shoppers ae asked to make a donation for the SonRise Food Bank. The Sky Valley Chapter members take contributions to the food bank.
Sky Valley Events
Ongoing. Pat, Gina, Ron, Randy, Shane, Charlie, and Shana all help out. C&C is a designated starting point for many of Sky Valley's runs. As individuals and as a business, they are all involved with fund raising, education, motorcycle awareness, and good times! Pat and Gina frequently donate gift certificates for Sky Valley raffle projects.
Benefits
Ongoing. Cowhide & Chrome has donated to several downed-rider funds. They often put up a donation jar in the store, such as when Ron hit the Kenworth with his Sporster, and when Valley John broke his back this spring. Right now, the jar is for a local Sultan teen who crashed recently.
