Washed Out Chameleon
Oh the masks we wear in life
To do our best and duty
The perfect mask of the perfect citizen
Of the wonderful parent and child
What's left for the human side
The ugly portrait of failure
What's left to be said of desires
Of fears found hidden below
Peel the onion of colors
The color of who we really are
It always scares us so
There is truth in what we see
Maybe some painful memory
Coming in just the right amount
Look into yourself from that center
Just for a moment you're aware
A washed out chameleon
Is what we wish to be
Nothing hidden all revealed
Freedom is now our dream
