Windows 2000: Internet Connection Wizard

This is the instructions for setting up your dial-up connection. If you need to check your settings please go to the Checking the Settings page.

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Settings and then Click on Control Panel.
3. Double Click on Internet Options.
4. Click on the Connections tab. Click on the Setup button.
5. Mark I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN). Click on the Next button.
6. Select I connect through a phone line and a modem. Click on the Next button.
7. Type in the full 10 digit Phone Number in the Phone Number field. Uncheck the Dial using the area code and country code box. Click on the Advanced button.
8. Mark PPP (Point to Point Protocol). Mark None. Click on the Addresses tab.
9. Mark Internet Service provider automatically provides one. Mark Always use the following: Primary DNS server is 199.181.164.1, Alternate DNS server is 199.181.164.2. Click on the OK button.

10. Use your fully qualified username.
    seanet.com	username@seanet.com
    premier1.net	username@premier1.net
    ncia.com	username@seanet.com

    Enter your password in the Password field. Click on the Next button.
11. Type in Seanet for the Connection name. Click on the Next button.
12. Mark Yes and click on the Next button.
13. Type in your name in the Display name field. Click on the Next Button.
14. Type in your full Internet E-mail address in the E-mail address field. Click on the Next button.
15. Reference the mail server table for the correct Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server. Click on the Next button.

    Incoming Mail Server (POP port 110)	pop.seanet.com
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP port 25 or 587)	mx.seanet.com

    
16. Enter your POP login name (usually everything before the @ symbol) in the Account name field. Enter your password in the Password field. Leave Log on using Secure Password unchecked. Click on the Next button.
17. Uncheck the box (unless you wish to connect immediately). Click on the Finish button. YOU'RE DONE!
