Mission Statement
Do - IT and Cybernetics of the future
To find opportunities among crises, we must add information
technology (IT) and cybernetics to the creative person's skills.
This is a central principle in the artist's, the crafts person's
and the designer's continuing education, practice, and asset management.
A new experience exists alongside the opera, the museum, the concert
hall, the gallery and the theater. Information technology (IT)
and cybernetics, with such inventions as multimedia, are new tools.
Talented people will use them in taking a stronger role in environmental
sustainability than they did prior to the age of electronic reproduction.
Doing - Always at risk, always opportunity in present
Today the artist, crafts person and designer risks that their
art is a trivial pursuit of junk consumer production for witless,
heartless waste. At times they add to the crises that threaten
the earth's environmental sustainability. This situation arises
in an economic system that may be out of control and is becoming
ecologically unsustainable. Yet with risks and crises there are
concommitant opportunities.
Done - Always in progress from the past
There was a time when a creative person's good was embodied
in that which he or she suffered themselves to assert their human
pro-activity. They created a physical and graphic equivalent of
their point-of-view. Their vision might have been a picture of
their aspiration, or their dream. Their vision could be one that
was like many peoples'--yet distinguished by the degree of skills
with which they brought forth their visual, aural and verbal communication.
