Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart.

Here is the statue of Mozart in the Salzburg town square. Unfortunately
for us, we were there in 2005, the year before Mozart's 250th birthday. Many of Salzburg's
landmarks, including this one, were under renovation. This is what we saw of the statue...

Luckily, we fared better at the Salzburg Dom (cathedral). Spectacular!

We're looking up into the ceiling here. Yes, those are very intricate
paintings in each panel.

Look at the size of those pipes!!

Okay, this is one of the coolest architecture-related things we saw on the whole trip.
The statue of Mary, in the foreground, is maybe 50m (50yd.) in front of the cathedral. Now check out the
façade of the cathedral, directly behind Mary's head. It appears as if two angels are placing a gold crown
on her head!

Here's a closeup. Très cool!

The cemetery outside was both unusual and very scenic. The grave markers
are not stones, but more like long, decorative spears or spikes...

Here's the town brothel, Le Maison de Plaisir. From what we understand, it's all legit!
(Note the official-looking red light over the door.) Hey, who needs Las Vegas when you have Salzburg??

In this scene, our protagonists dine in a very well-antlered establishment. The goulash here is
very good. I believe they kill, skin and prepare the meat right out back.

The beer on the table was not the first we consumed on our trip, nor would it be the last.
