Coney Island
On our last night in New York we rode the subway down to Coney Island (about an hour each way).
The evening was beautiful, the view from the top of the Wonder Wheel was spectacular, and we really
enjoyed the beach and the food as well.
Yes, yes, we went to Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs! -- Don't ask us again!
This photo and the next were taken from high above the evening's festivities in a large
mechanical contraption known as the Wonder Wheel. One of us was petrified at the prospect of
setting foot in this thing, but I somehow persuaded her to go anyway.
I think we both ended up being glad we had spent quality time together on the Wonder Wheel, but
one of us was overjoyed when the ride was over and we could just put the whole ordeal behind us.
Here we bid farewell to the Wonder Wheel, to Coney Island, and to New York...
