	Saint Alban Church

	Laichingen lies between Ulm and Stuttgart in South Germany and is the cradle of our Schwenk ancestry. Our earliest documented ancestor is Conrad Schwenk born there in 1601 and christened in the St. Alban Church clearly visible in the photo. Many of our distant cousins still reside there, Heinrich and Ruth Schwenk being the ones we know best.
	The probable father of Conrad, Andreas Schwenk, b. ca. 1575, lived in one of the houses visable behind the walled church property, that is, to the left center of this picture from 1364.
