To configure Communicator for e-mail and newsgroups, you will want to be within the browser and click on Edit, then Preferences.

On the left side you will see what looks like a Table of Contents. Select Mail & Newsgroups from the list.


Identity
Click on Identity. On the right you will see a new screen with some blanks to fill out. Fill in the following information:
  • Your name: (Enter your name as you would like it to appear on e-mail you send to others.)
  • E-mail address: username@seanet.com (where username is your login name)
  • Reply-to address: (only need to fill this in if you have another e-mail address you want people to reply to)
  • Organization: (this is optional)
  • Signature File: (leave blank)

Mail Servers
Click on Mail Servers, on the left.
  • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mx.seanet.com
  • Outgoing mail server user name: Leave Blank
  • Use Secure Socket Layer ...: Never

Then click on the Edit button at the top right.


General Tab
  • Server Name: pop.seanet.com
  • Server Type: POP3 Server
  • User Name: Seanet username
  • Remember password: Checked
  • Check for new messages every 7 minutes: Unchecked

POP Tab
  • Leave messages on server: Not Checked

Newsgroup Servers
Click on Newsgroup Servers, on the left.

Click on Add, and fill in news.seanet.com for the news server.
