E-mail: Exchange 4 and Outlook 97

This document will walk you through configuring Microsoft Exchange or Outlook 97 to send and receive e-mail messages using your Seanet connection. Note that although these programs have slightly different interfaces, their configuration screens are identical .

Starting Exchange or Outlook:

From your Start button select Programs and then Microsoft Exchange (or Outlook).


Choose Profile
  • If you are asked to select a profile just click OK.

Configuring Exchange & Outlook:


Select Tools and then Services:

Services
  • Highlight Internet Mail and click Properties.

Add Service to Profile
If you don't have the Internet Mail service listed, clickAdd, then select Internet Mail and click OK.

General Tab
  • Fill out this screen as shown making sure you don't put any spaces in your e-mail address or the server name. Be careful typing your Seanet password -- it's case-sensitive, and you can't see it as you type!
  • When you're finished, click on Advanced Options.

Advanced Options
  • Enter the name of Seanet's SMTP server and click OK.

Connection Tab
  • Select the appropriate connection type.
  • Click OK

Click OK.

Keep clicking OK until you're back to Exchange (or Outlook 97), then close the program.
