Basic Actiontec Wireless-Ready DSL Gateway Setup For Macs
Verifying you have all the hardware
The self-install kit from Qwest should contain
6 color-coded plastic bags as well as the router
itself and an install CD.
Power Cord
Open the black bag and plug the power
cord into the black port on the back of the
Actiontec.
Power Light
At this point, the Power LED on the
unit should be green.
Phone Cable
Plug the black phone cable into the DSL port
on the back of the Actiontec (it's a black port
as well) and plug the other end into the phone
jack.
Internet Light
The Internet LED should now be solid
green.
Ethernet (Yellow) Cable
Open the yellow bag and plug the yellow
cable into one of the yellow ports on the back
of the Actiontec. Plug the other end of the
yellow cable into the network card (or ethernet
port) on your computer.
Ethernet Light
One of the four Ethernet Network LEDs
should now be green.
Phone Filters
Open the clear bag and remove the phone
filters. Filters need to be installed on any
device that shares a line with the DSL connection
except the actual line that is used by
the Actiontec.
Configuring the Actiontec
Using a Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape,
Opera, etc.) open the address http://192.168.0.1
Main Menu
Click on Setup / Configuration option
to begin the basic configuration.
Click on the
Button.
Verify that your Internet and one Ethernet
light is solid and click on the Next
button.
Broadband Connection
When asked what connection method you use
to access the internet, select PPPoA.
Click on the Next button.

Broadband Connection - PPP
Enter your fully qualified Username in the
User Name field.
Enter your password in the Password
field.
Leave the Static IP address blank.
Click on Next.
Click on the
button.
