Internet Explorer 5: Internet Connection Wizard (Dial Up)

Click on the Start Button.

Start Menu

  • Click on Settings and then Click on Control Panel

Control Panel

  • Double Click on Internet Options

Connections

  • Click on the Connections tab.
  • Click on the Setup button.

Welcome

  • Mark I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).
  • Click on the Next button.

Setting up your Connection

  • Select I connect through a phone line and a modem.
  • Click on the Next button.

 Step 1 of 3

  • Type in the full 10 digit Phone Number in the Phone Number field.
  • Uncheck the Dial using the area code and country code box.
  • Click on the Advanced button.

 Connection Tab

  • Mark PPP (Point to Point Protocol).
  • Mark None
  • Click on the Addresses tab.

 Addresses Tab

  • Mark Internet Service provider automatically provides one.
  • Mark Always use the following
  • Primary DNS server is 199.181.164.1
  • Alternate DNS server is 199.181.164.2
  • Click on the OK button.

 Step 2 of 3

  • Enter your fully qualified username in the User name field.
  • Enter your password in the Password field.
  • Click on the Next button.

 Step 3 of 3

  • Type in Seanet for the Connection name.
  • Click on the Next button.

 Set Up Your E-Mail

  • Mark Yes and click on the Next button.

Display Name

  • Type in your name in the Display name field.
  • Click on the Next Button.

 E-Mail Address

  • Type in your full Internet E-mail address in the E-mail address field.
  • Click on the Next button.

Incoming Mail Server  (POP port 110) pop.seanet.com
Outgoing Mail Server  (SMTP port 25 or 587) mx.seanet.com

 E-Mail Servers

  • Reference the mail server table for the correct Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server.
  • Click on the Next button.

 Mail Logon

  • Enter your POP login name (usually everything before the @ symbol) in the Account name field.
  • Enter your password in the Password field.
  • Leave Log on using Secure Password unchecked.
  • Click on the Next button.

 Completing the Wizard

  • Uncheck the box (unless you wish to connect immediately)
  • Click on the Finish button.
  • YOU'RE DONE!
