Email Set-Up

This brief walk-through will show you how to setup/configure your Seanet account in Microsoft Outlook 2003.

  1. Open Outlook then click on the tools menu. Once in the menu, click on “E-mail Accounts”.
  2. Choose one of the following; After you have made your selection, click “Next”.
  3. If you need to create a new account, select “Add a new e-mail account”.
  4. If you need to reconfigure your existing account, select “View or change existing e-mail accounts”.
  5. If you are creating a new account, select “POP3” then click “Next”.
  6. If you are reconfiguring an existing account, select your Seanet account from the box and then click the “Change” button.
  7. Fill out all of your information and then click on “More Settings”. Your name is the name people will see when you mail them. Email address and user name should both be your Seanet email address. Type your Seanet password into the password field. Incoming mail server should be pop.seanet.com. Outgoing mail server should be mx.seanet.com.
  8. Click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.
  9. Check the box “My outgoing server requires authentication” leave the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” radio button selected, then click the “Advanced” tab.
  10. Incoming server port should be 110. Outgoing server port should be 587. Then click the “OK” button and skip to step 9.

    Note: If you intend on using your Seanet email account on multiple devices or machines, follow the next step before clicking “OK”.

  11. Check the box that says “Leave a copy of messages on the server”, then check the box that says “Remove from the server after 10 days”. After checking the boxes click the “OK” button.
  12. Click the “Next” button.
  13. Click the “Finish” button.

You should now be able to send and receive email using your Seanet account with Outlook 2003.
