Webmaster Note for May 30, 2023
After over three years of delays, SWAT HQ is finally receiving minor
reorganization, removals of dead hyperlinks, and additions of new and
older files. Please be patient when visiting SWAT HQ at this time
because during these Web site revisions there will be non-functional
hyperlinks connecting documents posted on this Web site. Thank you.
The Seattle Washington Autoduel Team (SWAT) is a tabletop gaming
group that has existed since the early 1990s. Its primary activity
has been playing Car
Wars, The Classic Board Game of Highway Combat
published by Steve Jackson
Games.
SWAT uses rules from Car Wars Fourth Edition and Car Wars Sixth Edition for its autoduelling sessions.
Members host Car Wars and other tabletop car combat
games at Pacific Northwest gaming conventions including OrcaCon each January and Dragonflight each August in
Bellevue, Washington State.
Car Wars sessions are held at other
times in the Puget Sound region of Washington State depending on the
schedules of SWAT's members.
Resources found on this Web site include:
- One of the largest collection of hyperlinks to materials regarding
Car Wars and other automotive combat tabletop games on
the Internet.
- The complete archive of the Car
Wars Mailing List (CWML), an e-mail
newsletter dedicated to Car Wars, published by the Australian Car Wars Web site High
Velocity Duelling (HVD) from 1996 to 1998.
- The complete archive of the Car
Wars Internet Newsletter (CWIN), an e-mail
newsletter dedicated to Car Wars and other
tabletop car combat games, published by SWAT from 1998 to 2013.
SWAT also runs the blog Wheels,
Weapons, and the Wasteland and the Twitter account Car Combat Central
(@carcombat).
Please
